The Caucus to nominate candidates for Town of Prairie Lake Chairperson and 2 Supervisors-at-large to serve on the Town Board will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 7 p.m., at the Meeting Room of the Municipal Building at 796 21st Street. The term of office is 2 years – April, 2019 – April 2021.
In order for a candidate’s name to be placed on the ballot for the Spring Election which will be held on April 2, 2019, a person must be nominated, and that nomination must be seconded, by persons who are eligible voters of the Town of Prairie Lake. (Note: the persons doing the nominating and seconding need not be registered voters, but they must be eligible to be registered voters if they chose to be.)
There can be 2 names on the ballot for chairperson and 4 names for supervisor. Should there be more nominations than are allowed on the ballot, then the persons present at the caucus who are eligible voters would vote on the candidates for an office and the persons with the highest number of votes would fill those ballot slots.
The current office holders are Dale Lehner, Chairperson (who has filed a letter of intent to not run for that office for this term); and Janice Rustong and Wayne Brenholt, Supervisors-at-large.
