Any dog 5 months or older needs to be licensed now. After April 1, the fee increases by $5 per dog and around the middle of April the names of all dog owners who have not secured a license for the current year will be turned over to the sheriff’s department after which the fine for not licensing increases to $186 (PER DOG). In order to obtain a dog license you can print the form off the website and send or bring it along with the correct fee and a current rabies vaccination certificate to: Treasurer, 796 21st St., Chetek, WI 54728-9723 (or you can just enclose the rabies vaccination certificate and the correct fee if you can’t print the form).
