NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Open Book for the Town of Prairie Lake shall be held on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Prairie Lake Municipal Building, 796 21st Street, Chetek, Wisconsin.
The assessor, Kleven Property Assessments, will be present at Open Book, and the assessment roll will be open for public inspection.
If you have any questions or concerns about your assessment, you should attend Open Book to discuss these with the assessor in an informal setting. You do not need an appointment to speak with the assessor at this time – walk-ins are welcome during the posted hours.
The boat landing located just off of 11 1/2 Avenue and Lakewood Park located off of 22 1/2 Street has received some upgrades through out the past year. The boat landing and park have both been paved as well as a donation box installed by the boat landing and a new dock. Just south of the boat landing, at Lakewood Park, there is a porta potty for public use as well as the newly paved parking area for vehicles and boat trailers.
Effective on Monday, March 11, 2022, all vehicles operating on class “B” town highways in the Town of Prairie Lake will be restricted to 6 tons per one axle and any two axles under 8ft apart to 10 tons. The weight restriction is for all class “B” town highways. School buses and trucks hauling milk, fuel, and septic are exempt from the seasonal load limits in the Town of Prairie Lake. These weight restrictions will be in affect until the signs are errected.

Due to the increased complaints, we would like to remind the public that the Town of Prairie Lake roads are NOT all open to ATV/UTV use. Please follow the guidelines and maps set forth by the Town of Prairie Lake board. A map and ordinance with our listed routes can be found on our website. The routes are marked within the Town of Prairie Lake. Please obey the signage and be respectful of adjacent property owners. Citations will be issued.
